Autism Behavioral Center – Multi-Outlet Interior Design. Creating Supportive and Functional Spaces for Children and Families
The Autism Behavioral Center interior design project spans three outlets across Subang Jaya, Ampang, and Bangsar, Malaysia, with a focus on creating safe, welcoming, and functional environments for children, therapists, educators, and families.
The design approach was developed around the unique requirements of a behavioural therapy and learning environment. Each space was carefully planned to support structured activities, therapy sessions, learning, movement, and interaction while maintaining a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
The design philosophy centres on creating spaces that feel calm, structured, safe, and engaging. Rather than relying solely on visual aesthetics, the interiors were planned around how children, therapists, and families interact with the environment throughout the day.
Clear spatial organisation helps establish a sense of familiarity and structure, while carefully considered colours, textures, lighting, and furniture create a comfortable environment for different activities and therapy sessions.
